Camping For Recreation

Camping is an outdoor recreational activity, in which the campers get away from everyday bumps and grinds and enjoy nature while spending one or many nights at a campsite. There are many ways to camp out using different means for shelter. Using a tent may be the most primitive way to go camping but is enjoyed by millions of people each year. Then there are the RVs, which can range in size from nothing more than a tent on wheels to luxury motorhomes costing hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Camping as a recreational activity became popular almost 100 years ago.

Camping in national parks and other publicly owned natural areas is frequented by millions each year.
Camping describes a wide range of activities. Survivalist campers set off with little more than their boots, whereas recreational vehicle travelers arrive equipped with their own electricity, heat, and almost all the comforts of home. Camping may be all some want to do on their getaway, but often it is done in conjuction with other activities, such as hiking, swimming, hunting and fishing.
Some people vacation at permanent campsites with cabins and other facilities (such as hunting camps or children’s summer camps), but a stay at such a camp is usually not considered ‘camping’.
The most comfortable form of camping uses ( RVs), essentially  houses on wheels. Some call this style of camping “tinboxing”. Many RVs are quite luxurious, having air conditioning, bathrooms, kitchens, showers and even satellite TV. RV campers often choose these devices because they consider tent camping uncomfortable and inconvenient. Some campgrounds offer full hookups including electricity, water and sewer connections.

Those who seek a rugged camping experience in the outdoors prefer to camp only with tents. Tent camping attracts young families because the children tend to enjoy it, and because the gear is inexpensive and tent camping sites often cost less than campsites with full amenities.

Many people enjoy camping for the socialization with the same group of fellow campers. Such groups will arrange events throughout the year, to allow members with similar interests to get together. This allows families to form small close knit societies, and the children form friendshipsthat can lat a lifetime. Some who participate in this sort of camping may feel that it brings a closer form of bonding than it would otherwise be at home in the city.
As for me camping has brought my family closer together as well as for lasting friendships that mean so much these days.
